Times are no doubt a changing. Every time I look around, there is something new and fresh introduced into the picture. I especially love chatting with my parents about how things were when they were young. Take the child car seat safety laws for instance. The main thing is to find a car seat that suits your child's age and size. Brand name is not paramount. Finally, modern child car seat safety laws and restrictions are in place for a reason. To keep your kids safe! Obey them for your children's sake.
